Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Therapy

The Naturopathic Doctors at Edmonton’s Natural Terrain Naturopathic Clinic are trained in various forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture.

The expanded and extended healing properties offered by TCM allows the Naturopathic doctors at Natural Terrain to use different, yet complementary, natural systems to diagnose illness, propose steps for a focused healing plan that treats patients effectively and with high levels of efficiency.

TCM is for patients who are wanting alternative and proven approaches for their medical needs, including both physical, and mental.

TCM and Acupuncture has been used for more than 4,000 years and are very effective for treating chronic illnesses and for relieving pain/discomfort. Your Naturopathic Doctor may use a variety of TCM modalities such as various herbal formulations/tinctures, multiple Acupuncture pathways and recommendations for changes to your diet and food choices.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is built on the foundation that life force energy flows along our body’s meridians. This energy is known as “chi” and a person is considered healthy when their chi is harmonious, allowing yin and yang to be in balance. When chi (your body’s energy) is blocked, your yin and yang are out of balance and you become ill.

Chi can be directly accessed and manipulated through acupuncture points along the meridian pathway to help restore function and balance to your mind, body and spirit by removing blockages and balancing yin and yang.

Acupuncture is effective for more than simply the popular notion of pain relief. Acupuncture provides a method of treatment which harmonizes the imbalances present in disease conditions.
